Serve With Us

We are always looking for people with a variety of skills and experiences who want to impact the lives of our graduates and their families. There are many ways that you can be involved with WorkFaith Birmingham. If you want to serve, we have a place for you!

Take a look at the volunteer opportunities below. Next, fill out the application at the bottom of this page and submit. Someone from WorkFaith will contact you once we have received your application. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!

“I first volunteered to serve WorkFaith Birmingham as an interviewer for the students’ mock interviews every two-three months. That exposure to the work of this ministry completely changed my retirement life. Now, in addition to leading the mock interview team, I am also blessed to serve the WFB classes as a teaching assistant.” -Pam Hodges, regular volunteer and assistant workshop instructor

Practice Interviewers

We hold mock interviews at the end of every workshop, and our practice interviewers do the interviewing and provide feedback to help participants prepare to interview well. This is a vital component of the workshop, as it allows participants to put into practice all that they have learned in the workshop. If you can commit to three hours every other month (usually in the morning or early afternoon), we would love to have you on this team. We specifically need individuals with backgrounds in management and HR.

workshop meal coordinators

We provide lunch for our participants and instructors each day of the workshop. We rely on volunteers to help provide these meals. This can include anything from cooking a meal yourself, ordering from a restaurant or catering company, or giving a donation. If you are able to provide one lunch a month (or more!) and are interested in serving WorkFaith in this way, let us know.

An encourager walks alongside one of our graduates, encouraging them in the job-search process. This is a one-year commitment, with at least one meeting a month with your graduate. These are informal opportunities to hear how they are doing, to encourage them in their job search and career development, and to pray with them.
